Opportunities to learning more about Risk-based performance

Coming up in October and November there are a number of opportunities to learn more about Risk-based performance and ‘join the debate’ about integrating performance and risk management.

October 20 - Unicom Strategic Performance Management and Balanced Scorecard Forum 

Risk-based performance will be the central theme of Andrew Smart’s presentation - Balanced Scorecard - Necessary but not sufficient

October 29 – Institute of Operational Risk Management - Risk Appetite and Economic Capital workshop

IOR has asked Andrew Smart to present the Risk-based performance approach, specifically focusing on how it addresses issues related to Risk Appetite and alignment with Risk Exposure.

October 31 - University of Siena – Introduction to Risk-based performance lecture.

Andrew Smart will be presenting the Risk-based performance methodology and supporting research to the masters program at the University of Siena.

November 11Manigent and Unicom Risk-based performance training workshop

Manigent has partnered with Unicom to present a one-day interactive workshop, during which attendees will gain insights into the Risk-based performance methodology. It will touch on the methodologies from which it evolved, Balanced Scorecard and COSO, and then move on to show how to use the methodology to integrate and align performance and risk management processes to enhance strategic execution.

Participants will:

Gain a conceptual understanding of the Risk-based performance methodology.
Discover the relationship between strategic objectives, risk appetite and risk exposure, and tools for managing this relationship.
Understand the role of strategic objectives and key risks, how to define, integrate and align these.
Become familiar with the three different types of key indicators, how to define and apply these.Understand Strategic Activities and how to align to objectives and risks.
